Your story

Have you been through an extremely unusual situation? Something that prompts people to ask you, “What was that like?” If so, you are welcome to submit your story using the form below.

Please be aware that stories used in the podcast have to be very unusual. For example, “I was in a car accident” wouldn’t work because it’s too common. However, if your story is “I was driving along when an airplane fell from the sky into my car”, that would be a good candidate.

Also, some of the submissions we get are too general, such as, “I’ve had an interesting life – I did this, then I went here, then I changed jobs, etc.” Interesting, but not a story for the podcast. We’re looking for something that’s more based around a particular event or something specific that you’ve experienced. If you’re not sure, feel free to submit your story using the form below. I can’t necessarily respond to all submissions, but I do read all of them.

Stories that are typically declined:

  • stories about the paranormal
  • stories that are primarily medically related
  • stories where the primary topic is drug-induced antics or crazy sexcapades

One thing to keep in mind when submitting your story: the more details you can provide, the better. Don’t worry about it being too long. I’ll read it, I promise. Knowing the full story really helps to determine if it will be a good fit for the podcast, and it’s a huge help for me to make my notes for our conversation. So, for a good submission, the phrase “to make a long story short…” should never be part of it.

Also – don’t send half the story and say “If you want to hear the rest, let me know”. I need to know all the details, so just send the full story.

Note: podcast guests must be 18 or older.
